Rainforests self-seed and create growth through ecological processes that have been ongoing for thousands of years. Humans mirror these processes through no dig gardening, composting and FOGO.

Students will:

  • Observe the structure of the rainforest and the leaf litter
  • Identify the colours of the leaves of evergreen trees
  • Conduct tests on leaves using chromatography and explain results
  • Use the layers of the rainforest to assist them in creating a miniature no dig garden
