Rainforests self-seed and create growth through ecological processes that have been ongoing for thousands of years. Humans mirror these processes through no dig gardening, composting and FOGO.
Students will:
- Observe the structure of the rainforest and the leaf litter
- Identify the colours of the leaves of evergreen trees
- Conduct tests on leaves using chromatography and explain results
- Use the layers of the rainforest to assist them in creating a miniature no dig garden
