Education Centre

The Education Centre is an environmental education centre for learners of all ages, offering school excursions, holiday activities, after school programs, adult workshops, garden tours and weekend events.

You can pre-book a group excursion, tour, workshop or purchase a ticket to one of our learning programs listed below. Programs are hands on, led by expert educators and cover themes such as sustainable gardening, nature connection, nature play and biodiversity.

The Education Centre is situated in the old Cratloe Cottage, built in 1921 by James Fitzgerald. Later it was used as a gardener’s residence for Gleniffer Brae Manor House. You can read more about the history of the Garden on the timeline.

Surrounding the Cottage is the Sustainable Garden, a vibrant space that showcases creative ways to repurpose recycled materials in your own garden. Explore inspiring displays including compost bins, worm farms, and upcycled garden features - perfect for sparking ideas and sustainable living. Come along to get inspired!

Location

The Education Centre is located near our Madoline Street entrance, adjacent to our P2 car park which has a 2-hour parking limit.

If you enter the Garden from our main entrance (P1) on Murphys Avenue, it takes approximately 10 minutes to walk up to the Education Centre.
