Seed Seekers Trail
Ready for a summer adventure? Bring the kids and explore our Seed Seekers Trail - a fun, free, self-guided journey through the Garden these school holidays.
Become a Seed Seeker and discover the extraordinary world of seeds. Follow clues, uncover hidden treasures and learn how plants spread their seeds to create the next generation of plants.
What’s it all about?
Seeds may be small, but they play a huge role in the natural world. They help plants reproduce, spread to new places and ensure plant species survive for future generations.
Around the world, Seed Seekers working in botanic gardens are real-life conservation heroes. They collect and protect seeds from thousands of plant species, helping safeguard biodiversity and supporting the recovery of threatened plants. In Australia, where nearly two-thirds of threatened species are plants, their work is more important than ever.
The Seed Seekers Trail celebrates the amazing ways plants disperse their seeds and highlights the important role seed conservation plays in protecting our natural world. Along the way, young explorers will discover the incredible journeys seeds make and the clever strategies plants use to travel far and wide.
The Agents of Dispersal need your help!
Ten special seeds have been hidden throughout the Garden by the mysterious Agents of Dispersal:

- Agent Water
- Agent Gravity

Each agent has hidden two seeds and left clues behind. Can you track them all down and uncover how different plants spread their seeds?
