Discovery Centre

The Discovery Centre is an environmental education centre for students and visitors of all ages.

It includes the Discovery Garden (open to visitors at any time) used to showcase examples and ideas for using recycled items in your own garden as well as compost bins and worm farms on display, and a Herb Garden nearby. Come and get inspired!

You can also hire the Discovery Centre for meetings or small events on weekends. Call us on (02) 4227 7667 or email us to make a venue hire enquiry.

The Discovery Centre was originally built in 1921 by James Fitzgerald who named it Cratloe Cottage. Later it was used as a gardener’s residence for Gleniffer Brae Manor House. You can read more about the history of the Garden on the timeline.

Location

The Discovery Centre is near our Madoline Street entrance. It includes a car park, which is reserved for educational activities on weekdays (permit holders only). The car park is open to the general public on weekends.
