Investigations into the world of packaging and plastic and how it comes into play in the garden’s ecosystems from birds’ nests to our worm farms.
Students will:
- Participate in a waste audit of their own lunch boxes
- Undertake a scavenger hunt looking plastic in real birds’ nests and hypothesize how it got there
- Investigate using scientific approaches static electricity and UV blue light in some plastics and compare and pose questions about the effect on the environment
- Complete a worksheet to support explanations and arguments
- Discuss alternatives to plastic
