Converting waste to food for the soil is a speciality of some of the smallest inhabitants in the compost.

Students will:

  • Identify different habitats
  • Compare light, temperature and moisture of different geographical environments
  • Compare natural geographical environs to that of a working compost
  • Use sample pots to collect and identify mini beasts
  • Catch mini beasts
  • Hypothesise how mini beasts convert food and garden waste into compost
