Bouncing with the Bowerbirds

A place-based sensory program incorporating the story of Wollongong Botanic Garden's resident bowerbirds. A fun and interactive way to learn about this special place.

Bowerbirds are a key species of the garden.

Students will:

  • Hear the story of the bowerbird
  • Make and decorate their own bower in groups
  • Go for a garden walk and find bowers
  • Play bower bird bingo, identifying the birds of the Botanic Garden
  • Design a process for deciding on the perfect location for a bower.
