Ready for a spring adventure? Bring the kids and explore our Flower Finder Trail - a fun, free, self‑guided journey through the Garden these school holidays, 26 September to 11 October.

What’s it all about?

Spring is one of the most spectacular times of year in the Botanic Garden. Bright, colourful flowers and delightful fragrances can be found around every corner.

As spring flowers begin to flourish, pollinators from across the local area visit the Garden in search of nectar and pollen. These tiny visitors play a vital role in helping plants reproduce, supporting healthy ecosystems and contributing to the food we eat every day. They are true superheroes of nature, and life as we know it would not be possible without them.

The relationship between flowers and pollinators is special because they:

Help plants grow and reproduce
Support healthy ecosystems and biodiversity
Contribute to the production of many foods we enjoy

The Flower Finder Trail celebrates the incredible diversity of flowers in the Garden and the important role pollinators play in our natural world. Along the way, young explorers will discover just how amazing flowers and their pollinator friends really are.

Pollinator Posse needs your help… Pollinator Posse has left special clues around the Garden. Can you help find them all while uncovering the secrets of flowers and their pollinator friends?

What to look for

As you explore the Garden, try to find eight different flower shapes:

- Sun
- Star
- Urn / Bell
- Flame
- Globe
- Bird
- Butterfly
- Pom-pom

How it works

Pick up a Flower Finder Trail flyer from our welcome signs
Follow the map or the arrows around the Garden.
Stop at each flower and take a closer look
Ask yourself:
- Does the flower match one of the shapes on the flyer?
- Can you spot any pollinators are visiting it?

Take your time, use your observation skills, and discover the fascinating partnerships between flowers and pollinators along the way.
