Conservation

Wollongong Botanic Garden is a beautiful place to explore, but it’s so much more than just a pretty space!

We care for, protect, research and display many different types of plants, including several rare, threatened and endangered species.

This includes plants at our main Botanic Garden site in Keiraville, as well as managing three other important natural areas at Mount Keira, Puckey’s Estate and Korrongulla Wetlands.

Our Nursery is the hub for enhancing our local environment through our specialist plant production and distribution across the region. We also encourage residents to support the local environment by using appropriate plants on their property through our Native Plant Sales.

Regular workshops hosted at the Garden help people to live more sustainably, by doing things like composting or worm farming.
