Step Back in Time Tour

When:
24 May 26 - 24 May 26 10:15am

Step into another era and become the guest of honour at Gleniffer Brae Manor on this lively and interactive historical, presented as part of our free Botanic Gardens Week activities.

Guided by theatrical portrayals of Mrs Madge Hoskins, wide of the founder of the Port Kembla Steelworks, and his delightfully eccentric Scandinavian garden designer, Mr Paul Sorensen, this immersive experience blends humour, history, theatre, and imagination.

As you wander through the grounds of this spectacular Manor House, enjoy a dramatic retelling of the vision, personalities, and passions that shaped this remarkable place, including its beautifully designed Sorensen Garden, recognised with a NSW Blue Plaque. Theatre, garden design, and history come together to offer a charming and insightful glimpse into our not‑so‑distant past.

Performed by Eaton Gorge Theatre Company, this 45‑minute walking performance tour follows mostly flat garden paths, with some uneven surfaces. Participants will be walking and standing throughout and should be comfortable being on the move for the duration. We recommend wearing enclosed shoes and a hat for comfort while touring the Garden.

Places are limited to 30 participants per tour, with spaces allocated on a first‑to‑arrive basis.

Come prepared to laugh, learn, and be transported back in time.
